Renewable Asset Performance Software

Hg Takes a Large Stake in 3E to Scale Its SynaptiQ Platform

Hg acquired a large stake in 3E, the Brussels-based provider of renewable energy asset performance software and technical advisory services, buying from ReNew and minority shareholders. 3E's SynaptiQ platform helps owners of solar, wind and battery storage assets track performance and revenue, diagnose underperformance and act on it.

3E monitors more than 50 GW of assets for customers including EDP, Renvolt and BayWa r.e. The investment will fund SynaptiQ's development as a system of record for asset, weather and market data, and a system of intelligence that pairs physics-based models with AI, with growth focused on the US and selective acquisitions.

As grid congestion and storage reshape how portfolios earn revenue, this deal signals how software that unifies asset and market data can help renewable owners protect value.
