Low-Carbon Hydrogen Acquitions
Hy24, the world's largest investment platform dedicated to low-carbon hydrogen, signed an agreement through its Clean Hydrogen Infrastructure fund to acquire Hynamics, an EDF Group subsidiary, with EDF Pulse Ventures. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory approval.
Hynamics produces and markets low-carbon hydrogen for heavy mobility and industry through flagship projects in France and the United Kingdom, produced by water electrolysis and powered by low-carbon electricity, emitting no CO₂. EDF has supported the business since its creation in 2019, and the sale aims to build a leading French and British hydrogen champion.
This deal signals how consolidation under specialist investors could give utility-backed hydrogen businesses the capital and expertise to deploy projects serving heavy industry.
