The green hydrogen project announced by Moeve marks a significant step in expanding renewable energy infrastructure in Spain. The company’s Board of Directors has approved the final investment decision to begin construction of the Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley, with work on the first phase expected to start in the coming weeks.

The initial phase, known as 'Onuba,' will have a production capacity of 300 MW, making it one of the largest green hydrogen facilities in Southern Europe. The project has also been designed with the potential to expand by an additional 100 MW in the future.

The development represents a total investment of more than €1 billion, covering hydrogen production facilities, associated infrastructure and a photovoltaic plant for renewable electricity generation. Moeve will "lead the project with a 51% stake, in partnership with Masdar and Enalter, a company majority-owned by Enagás Renovable, supporting the growth of renewable hydrogen production in Europe."
