Supersonic Turbine Factories

Boom Supersonic Opens a Superfactory to Build Turbine Cores

Boom Supersonic unveiled its first complete supersonic turbine core, a 2GW turbine 'Superfactory,' and plans for an all-digital foundry capable of casting advanced single-crystal turbine blades and vanes. The factory is now operational and already producing turbine parts, with the first single-crystal components expected to ship in 2027. It will create up to 500 jobs.

The 'Superpower Superfactory' will produce 'Superpower,' Boom's 42-megawatt natural gas turbine for AI data centers, with first customer deliveries targeted for mid-2027 and annual rates of 25 turbines by 2028 and 50 by 2029. The $150 million campus spans nearly 200,000 square feet in Centennial, Colorado.

The 'Sprint Core' turbine core ships this week to Boom's test site, with a first firing expected before Thanksgiving. Boom's vertical integration cuts design-to-part time to hours or days, demonstrating how bringing production in-house can accelerate energy hardware to meet fast-growing AI power demand.
