Early-Stage Climate Technology Fellowships
Early-stage climate technology fellowships are helping Massachusetts founders turn promising research into working prototypes through Greentown Labs' expanded First Valley Fellowship. The six-month program provides selected startups with $50,000 in funding without requiring them to surrender equity, addressing financial and technical barriers that often delay early product development.
Participants receive $25,000 for living expenses and another $25,000 for research and development. The fellowship also provides free workspace, specialized facilities, dedicated mentorship, and access to more than $1 million in business resources. Eligible projects span clean energy, manufacturing, transportation, infrastructure, and environmental systems.
For emerging climate businesses, this support can lower development expenses while improving access to potential customers and investors. By connecting technical founders with commercialization expertise, Greentown Labs aims to strengthen fundraising readiness and help more Massachusetts climate technologies progress toward market entry.
