Utility-Scale Solar Projects
Rezolv Energy secured up to $636.3 million in project financing from a consortium of 14 lenders to move its 1.3 GWp Dama Solar project in Arad County, Romania, into construction. The lenders include 10 commercial banks, three development finance institutions and an anchor investment from the European Investment Bank, backed by an InvestEU guarantee.
Once operational in the second half of 2028, Dama Solar is expected to be the EU's largest onshore renewable energy project, generating roughly 1.8 TWh annually, about 36% of Romania's projected 2025 solar output. The site spans more than 1,000 hectares, including an 82-hectare nature reserve, and supports two contracts for difference alongside a corporate power purchase agreement.
As Romania scales its energy transition, Dama Solar's multi-lender structure signals how large solar developments can attract diverse public and private capital to deliver reliable, utility-scale clean power.
