Willdan Group acquired substantially all of KCS Corporation's assets, adding a 15-person power delivery engineering team to Willdan's in-house capabilities to support a growing pipeline of data center, battery storage and grid modernization projects. KCS specializes in critical infrastructure engineering and has previously partnered with Willdan on several substation and renewable energy projects.

The acquisition strengthens Willdan's APG team, expanding its capacity to execute power infrastructure projects more efficiently amid rising demand for energy services. Both companies cited strong alignment between their teams, with KCS leadership noting that the combined organization will offer clients a broader range of engineering services while maintaining a personalized approach.

This acquisition signals that engineering firms are consolidating specialized talent to keep pace with the technical complexity of scaling battery storage and renewable energy projects.
