TotalEnergies Has Filed to Build France's Largest Offshore Wind Farm
Adam Harrie — May 28, 2026TotalEnergies filed for Single Authorization for Center Manche Energies, a 1.5GW offshore wind farm located more than 40km off the coast of Normandy. The French offshore wind farm project represents a €4.5 billion investment expected to generate about 6TWh annually, powering more than 1 million French homes and supporting up to 2,500 jobs during a three-year construction phase.
TotalEnergies plans to prioritize European suppliers for wind turbines and cables, with construction timelines dependent on the completion of the government permitting review currently underway.
