Achmea Investment Management and ILX Management are partnering to launch a new investment vehicle that provides Dutch pension funds with access to loans originated by multilateral development banks and development finance institutions. The strategy targets companies and projects that support sustainable economic development in emerging markets, with most loans carrying explicit, measurable impact objectives.

Achmea IM manages approximately €16 billion in impact investments that address challenges such as climate change and biodiversity restoration, while ILX oversees more than €1.5 billion in private debt investments across emerging markets for Dutch and Danish pension funds. The partnership connects Achmea's institutional client base with ILX's development finance relationships.

As institutional investors increasingly seek returns paired with measurable societal impact, this partnership signals that pension funds are turning to structured development finance vehicles to channel capital toward sustainable growth in historically underserved markets.
