Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners finalized fundraising for its CIP Growth Markets Fund II, securing approximately $3 billion in commitments to develop large-scale renewable energy infrastructure across 15 high-growth markets in Eastern Europe, Asia and Latin America. The fund is nearly three times the size of its predecessor and has already committed $1.6 billion across nine investments.

GMF II’s portfolio includes Chile’s largest standalone battery project, which was commissioned under budget, and Romania’s Pestera II onshore wind project, which reached financial close. The fund also secured the largest capacity allocation under Mexico’s new binding solar and battery storage planning framework and has begun construction on the country’s first large-scale projects of their kind.

The fund attracted sovereign wealth funds, pension investors and Development Finance Institutions, building on GMF I’s track record of delivering approximately 8.7GW of energy capacity across India and South Africa.
