Energy Transition Secondaries Funds

Alantra Launched Its €120 Million Investment Vehicle

Alantra has launched Alantra Horizon Secondaries, a c. €120 million investment vehicle focused on secondary-market opportunities in its Energy Transition asset class. It is backed by anchor investor CommonWealth Investments, alongside Blue Earth Capital and Swisscanto. The vehicle acquired a portfolio of approximately 10 growth-stage energy transition companies across North America, Europe and Asia from Shell Ventures.

The launch builds on Alantra's existing track record in the asset class, including its Klima and Klima II primary growth funds and 565 MW of clean-energy infrastructure acquired to date.

As energy transition companies become more established as an investment category, Alantra's secondaries vehicle demonstrates how dedicated liquidity solutions can help bridge the widening gap between early-stage backers looking to exit and long-term investors aiming to invest at scale.
