YESS Power is Expanding its Operations in Northern Macedonia
Colin Smith — April 16, 2026YESS Power has expanded its regional activities following the completion of a 30 MW and 60 MWh battery energy storage system integrated with a solar plant in Novaci, North Macedonia. The company reports that this project has strengthened its position in the Western Balkans and Southeast Europe, where it is now advancing a pipeline exceeding 1.5 GWh across various development stages. According to statements from its business development leadership, the firm is transitioning from a traditional engineering, procurement and construction role toward selective co investment models as storage markets mature. The North Macedonia installation is described as one of the first large scale solar plus storage systems in the region and serves as a reference point for future deployments.
The company indicates that its strategic focus includes utility scale standalone storage and hybrid solar plus storage applications across the Western Balkans, Southeast Europe and Türkiye. YESS Power notes that regulatory and permitting challenges remain a central consideration for large scale storage projects, requiring coordination with authorities and grid operators. Its parent company, Topkapı Endüstri, manages more than 1 GWh of energy systems on the gas engine side, and YESS Power aims to build a comparable presence in battery storage. The firm is also pursuing partnerships with technology providers and financiers to support long term growth in the region’s evolving energy infrastructure.
