Offshore Wind Foundation Milestones
East Anglia THREE Completed 95 Foundation Installations

ScottishPower Renewables and Masdar completed the installation of all 95 offshore wind foundations for East Anglia THREE off the Suffolk coast. The monopiles weigh up to 1,800 tonnes and stand as tall as 84 meters, making them the largest installed by a jack-up vessel in Europe. The £4 billion wind farm's 95 transition pieces are also complete, with turbine installation underway ahead of full operation by the end of 2026.
Once operational, East Anglia THREE will deliver 1.4 GW of clean power to more than 1.3 million UK homes, marking Masdar's first 50:50 offshore wind joint venture in the UK and the second project under Masdar and Iberdrola's €15 billion strategic partnership.
This milestone signals how large-scale engineering achievements are translating growing energy security ambitions into tangible, homegrown clean power capacity.
