Polish Onshore Wind Farms
EIB Funded Its 190 MW Wind Farm to Power 200,000 Polish Homes
Adam Harrie — July 30, 2026The European Investment Bank signed more than €260 million in financing for TAURON's Miejska Górka wind farm in Western Poland, supporting construction of what will become the country's second-largest onshore wind farm upon completion in 2026. The 190 MW project comprises more than 50 turbines, each exceeding 130 meters in height and capable of generating 3.6 MW, with enough capacity to supply clean energy to nearly 200,000 households.
The EIB is providing more than half of the project's total cost through an 18-year financing term, marking the bank's ninth financial agreement with TAURON and supporting the company's largest onshore wind investment to date.
TAURON shows how long-term financing from the EU's climate bank can help accelerate Poland's transition away from coal by enabling the construction of large-scale renewable energy infrastructure across Central and Eastern Europe.
