Wind Power Investments

Oracle announced investments in Texas wind energy projects that will deliver more than 1.7 GW of carbon-free electricity to the ERCOT grid that serves Oracle's Abilene AI data center. The 10 projects, developed with suppliers including Clearway Energy, ENGIE and RWE, are expected to generate enough electricity annually to power more than 525,000 U.S. homes.

The investments are estimated to avoid 1.8 million metric tons of CO2 emissions each year compared with the standard ERCOT grid, moving Oracle toward its goal of matching 100% of AI data center electricity use with carbon-free power by 2035.

Oracle's wind investment signals that major cloud providers are directly funding new generation capacity rather than solely purchasing existing renewable energy credits to meet their carbon-free electricity commitments.
